I love Duckie. Blane is a bore. Honestly, I don't think she should have wound up with either of them. Duckie was too good a friend (and a bit of a goof) and Blane was just too much of a coward. Spend the summer with your cool dad then go to college and meet someone who's a better match.

It is actually Try A Little Tenderness. If his family still owns his catalogue, they are on Easy Street. This Song, and Love Man was featued in Dirty Dancing & Cousins. Then of course he wrote Respect that aretha franklin made her signature song.
I always LOVED Duckie.... I mean, who didn't, right? He deserves much better than Andie, the way she treated him, but I guess the heart wants what it wants. I followed Jon through his entire career after this- movies like Superman IV & Hot Shots! and does anyone else remember him in the TV Series 'The Famous Teddy Z'? I loved that show!! So sorry it was cancelled after only 20 episodes) and up until 2 &1/2 Men of course- his Emmys were So deserved! LOVE him! He's still adorable to this day 🥰
The 1st time I saw this I was hypnotized, then in love with his energy and spirit, all while teasing me with such a grrrrrreat tune, Mr. Otis Redding!! #duckygirl4ever
he really went for it. 😂supposedly, molly ringwald wanted robert downey jr. to play the duckie role and she didn't like jon cryer. she couldn't even act amused in this scene. 🙄
One thing that burns me up about these shows is that the songs are never long enough. To me, these three beautiful precious gentlemen deserved longer performance slots. God bless you and them always!!! Holly in east TN (a girl who wishes them nothing but the complete and total best)
God damn he was such a cutie. Fell for him in this scene. Started crushing during the scene in her bed when he was laying down.. his lips looked so gorgeous.. so kissable.
I was basically the Black Duckie of my school as a teen in the 1980's so needless to say I was a huge John Cryer fan! This is a classic scene that will be enjoyed for generations!
They made an album in 2010 under an different name and they completely disbanded in 2012 and were dropped from Interscope Records but the singer signed with IRS Records in 2015 and was dropped via an “trade” later in the year.
Today, this video has 596K views. I'm pretty sure I've clocked 500,000 of them. I have this saved and watch it whenever I need a pick-me-up. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE me some Duckie!
I want Thai version of the version what is it???
Weird. Some of the songs play, but others are muted, the ones in the second half.
The boy was feeling his music, getting down to Otis Redding. Best character in the movie. Love this scene.👍🏻

I remember 14yr old me falling in love with Duckie because of this scene. Who wouldn’t want that guy? Also made me hate Andie.
You can't force what you so call feel on others
I so would’ve been trying to date Duckie.

It was Jon Cryer's performance that brought this movie to life.
100%
Best scene in the movie is Duckie dancing to Otis! Love Jon Cryer HE WAS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS IN THIS! He's still good looking & still a great actor.
Love this movie and the music!
Feel like some people don't know what a talent Annie Potts is. Can do ANY accent convincingly. That's a gift.
